Title: Benchmarking CometBFT with Asymmetric Grid Quorum Systems Authors: Michael Senn; Christian Cachin Venue: Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research) Year: 2026 Canonical: doi:10.5281/zenodo.20763187 URL: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.20763187 Collector: openalex OA: true ABSTRACT A benchmark which compares the performance of baseline CometBFT with that of CometBFT with added support for asymmetric quorum systems. This benchmark is part of the "Asymmetric Grid Quorum Systems for Heterogeneous Processes" paper, to be published at CCS26. The benchmark consists of modifications to CometBFT to add support for asymmetric quorum systems, a toolchain to deploy and configure a CometBFT deployment, a client to apply a workload against that deployment and collect performance metrics, and tools to analyze and visualize collected results. Live versions of all code can be found in our Github organization. For organizational reasons, the artifact is split into multiple repositories. These are: cryptobern/tenderload: Main benchmarking pipeline cryptobern/tendergrid: Fork of CometBFT with added support for asymmetric quorum systems cryptobern/tendercounter: Replicated application running on top of CometBFT cryptobern/asymmetric-quorums: Library providing methods to interface with asymmetric quorum systems Each of these repositories is represented by one or two .zip files in this artifact, whose name is the name of the repository, followed by the git tag identifying the stable version. tenderload, tendercounter and asymmetric-quorums have one version each (ccs26), whereas tendergrid has two: ccs26-baseline for the unmodified version of CometBFT, and ccs26-grid for the version with support for asymmetric quorum systems. To familiarize yourself with the artifact, consult the top-level README.md in the cryptobern/tenderload repository, respectively within its .zip file (tenderload-ccs26.zip) in this artifact.
